Hi Greg— glad to see you've discovered cretons! Thought you'd be interested to know they're actually pretty guilt-free eating, too. I'm a fitness nut (a little antithetical to the beer blogging thing from time to time, but I try to reconcile both) and I eat cretons regularly as a snack on toast or crackers. I just looked at the nutritional info on a jar of pork cretons: two tablespoons equals about 45 calories, only 2 grams of fat and 115 mg of sodium (only about 5% of daily allowable intake). Eat up, man!

Hey, Steve - sorry you missed V&V, it's a great place! Gives you an excuse to get back for a visit sometime soon.

I guess I should've said a bit more about the apartment. It's spacious and clean - two bedrooms with double beds, plus a double futon and a couch. Very large kitchen, including a nice little stereo system with CD player, input jack for an MP3 player, and a USB port for a memory stick with MP3s. They supply lots of linens and towels, and even a few food staples.

And the price was really reasonable. I don't remember the exact amount, but it was somewhere around $100 a night, which made it a complete bargain split 4 ways.

The stuff they brew themselves is extract and not too good. I love the place, as you say, for the place itself. They have a better selection of other Ontario craft brews than anywhere else in town so there is always something to sip but I am a regular for lunch with a coffee as it is 37 seconds from my work at City Hall.

Yeah, I'd been warned that the house beers at KBC aren't very good, so I wasn't expecting much. I'd been there once before a few years ago and had a pint of the Dragon's Breath, which I guess was being brewed by Hart at the time? As with the McAuslan version, it was alright.

Greaet trip recap, Greg! I was in Montreal the weekend after you with the family. Though a bit restricted with the kid, we still managed to hit some of the same haunts: DDC, Metro Joanette and the "Paradis des Bieres". One downside of your delayed reporting - I didn't know about Vices & Versa until just now. :) How were the accommodations above DDC?
